Stacey DeStefano

Practice Manager

Biography

Stacey DeStefano joined Chatham in 2025 as Practice Manager, bringing with her a lifelong passion for animals and a diverse professional background. Raised on an acreage in South Dakota, Stacey grew up surrounded by animals — showing horses and caring for dogs, cats, and any other creatures she could persuade her parents to welcome home.

She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a minor in Management from Dakota State University and began her career in corporate finance in Denver, Colorado. After stepping away from the workforce to raise her family, Stacey channeled her entrepreneurial spirit into founding and operating a successful in-home pet-sitting business.

Following her family’s move to North Carolina in 2013, Stacey worked in special education classrooms with students ranging from elementary through high school. She later expanded her professional experience as an HR Manager and Client Care Coordinator for an in-home senior care company.

In 2021, Stacey embraced the opportunity to merge her love of animals and people by entering the veterinary field — a decision that aligned perfectly with her passions and values. Her expertise in business and veterinary management, combined with her strong interpersonal skills, makes her an asset to the Chatham team.

A dedicated animal advocate, Stacey is also a foster caregiver, driven by her commitment to helping animals find loving homes. She is married to Jeff and is the proud mother of three grown children—Hunter, Carter, and Kenzie. Outside of work, Stacey enjoys spending time with her family (including their many pets) and cheering on Jeff as a devoted “professional spectator” at his Spartan races. She continues to pursue a balanced life centered on family, career, and personal well-being.

At Chatham, Stacey has found a true professional home, sharing in the organization’s core values and philosophy in caring for pets, their families, and the team.
